Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company.  We are focused on long-term growth through an aggressive exploration, development, production and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. We are currently looking for a Junior Production Accountant to join our Team on a full-time basis. The candidate will assist in the production accounting for gas plants, oil facilities and associated wells within Alberta and British Columbia.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for or assist with the following duties but not be limited to:

·         Support and training on production and revenue accounting for non-operated and operated gas plants, oil facilities and associated wells

·    Collaborate with Field Operations, Joint Venture, Land and other Accounting teams

·         Well, royalty, market master, facility charges and other master data management

·         Recording cost allocations to wells for trucking, treating and any other charges

·         Reconciliation of revenue receivable accounts and volume variances

·         Government regulatory and internal reporting

·         Support on audits, projects and other team initiatives

Experience Requirements

The successful candidate needs to have experience in the following areas in order to be qualified for this role:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
  • QUALIFICATIONS – Preferred
  • Previous experience in accounting and/or the oil and gas industry through internships, co-op placements, or entry-level roles
  • Familiarity with production accounting concepts and reporting requirements
  • Acquired or working towards completion of CAPPA Certificate

The successful candidate will need the following skills in order to perform the duties of the position effectively:

  • Effective communicator with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized and appreciation for tight deadlines
  • Proficient working knowledge of Excel – pivot tables, lookups and other functions
  • Team oriented attitude with a willingness to pitch in whenever and however possible
  • Can work independently in a high volume and fast-paced environment
