Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for or assist with the following duties but not be limited to:

·         Responsible for the coordination of the day-to-day direction of all production related operations in the area to safely meet or exceed our production and OPEX goals.

·         Review daily production for all areas ensuring no major upsets that will affect production reports.

·         Continually assess all costs for the area and leverage all opportunities to reduce costs when opportunities arise.

·         Communicate daily with the production manager, relaying all pertinent information from the field.

·         Communicate with key vendors and stakeholders when required ensuring the key interests of TOU are being managed effectively.

·         Provide direction to all foreman and lead operators ensuring consistency across all areas.  Support scope definition and provide oversight for turnaround and major equipment outages.

·         Provide operational mentorship and leadership to the Foremen and Lead Operators.

·         Provide support to other groups not limited to, but including, Facility construction, HSER, Measurement, Production Accounting, Marketing, IT/IS, Finance.

·         Collaborate with the two other production operations areas ensuring consistency across areas and leveraging opportunities that could positively impact the company.

·         Liaison between the field and the head office in Calgary.  This includes attending meetings in Calgary and relaying key initiatives back to the field in a professional and positive manner.

·         Integrate corporate Health, Safety, Environment and Regulatory policies into the day to day routine of all foremen and lead operators with the assistance of the company’s Health, Safety Environment and Regulatory advisors; ensure regulatory compliance and corporate HSER policies are carried out to the highest standard.

·         Attend safety meetings for all areas promoting key messages to the field operations staff.

·         Ensure continuous production improvement through mentoring, coaching and providing performance feedback to field staff.

·         Review annual compensation for all field staff with the production manager and relay details back to all staff.

·         Review and approve all expense reports for applicable personal prior to managers approval.

·    Accountable to ensure invoicing is handled appropriately and in a timely manner.

·         Support and steward to annual budget and planning process for field operations.

·         Review and comment on all incident reports and ensure all identified corrective action items are completed in a timely matter.

·         Create and track OPEX AFE’s including capital eligible projects driven by the Production group

·         Promote a safe and positive working environment to all staff, ensuring that TOU is the place where they want to be.

·         As a leader in the area for TOU, provide direction to ensure TOU is viewed as a reputable corporate citizen in the community.

Experience Requirements

The successful candidate needs to have experience in the following areas in order to be qualified for this role:

·         Ten to Fifteen years of production and operations experience, with a minimum five (5) years in a foreman position.

·         Minimum Grade 12 (High School) diploma; a related Post-Secondary technical diploma is an asset.

·         A valid driver’s license is required.

·         All current safety tickets (First Aid, H2S, WHIMIS, TDG, etc.)

·         Good working knowledge of operations in areas of plant, field, completions, construction and pipeline or a combination of these areas.

·         Mechanical aptitude, technical skills and problem-solving abilities.

·         Demonstrated experience in integrating and coordinating all operational aspects.

·         Demonstrated leadership experience and interpersonal skills.
