Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company.  We are focused on long-term growth through an active exploration, development, production and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. We are currently seeking a Credit Summer Student to join our Calgary office.  This is a term position beginning in May 2027 and running for approximately four months.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for or assist with the following duties but not be limited to:

  • Retrieve, update and analyze key financial information for both new and existing customers  
  • Propose credit limits based on balance sheet and cash flow analysis and external or estimated credit ratings
  • Assist in the tracking and reporting of completed credit reviews to both the finance and marketing groups within the organization
  • Maintain up-to-date information in Tourmaline’s credit tracker
  • Compare approved credit limits to actual sales

Experience Requirements

The successful candidate needs to have experience in the following areas in order to be qualified for this role:

  • Must be currently enrolled in university or college
  • Preference will be given to students who have completed their 2nd or 3rd year of undergraduate studies with a major in finance or accounting
  • Ability to find, research and analyze financial statements across multiple sectors
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (including Excel) is considered an asset

  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to take pride and ownership of work
  • Self-starter, takes initiative, and proven ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision
